The days after All Saint´s Day are very difficult for our harvesters. Wet fogs and little showers are interrupting the harvesting time and again. Only during the "sun windows" can we harvest some of the wonderful grapes still hanging on the vines. Important vineyards such as Lamm or Käferberg have not been harvested yet. The Muskateller, especially popular with birds and other wildlife, is protected by netting. Will 2007 bring an ice wine?

The grapes we that have been recently harvested have a long story of suffering behind themselves: from the extremely hot July to a frosty November they have been spared no kind of weather. We believe that these grapes have the potential of growing into great wines.

During the coming weeks the historic first wine from our winery will be filled in screw capped bottles. Restaurants have been demanding these closures because of their simplicity and the elimination of cork taint. In tests conducted during the last decade we have satisfied ourselves of the fact that we can use screw caps without any loss of quality.
