| Now our Pinot Noir, Zweigelt and St. Laurent have reached perfect maturity. The qualities of red wine harvested in Langenlois this today would have been unthinkable only ten years ago. The climate change and better vineyard management (for example the lyre training of our vines) produce fine reds with deep colours and velvety tannins even in our cooler climate.
These red wines are also particularly interesting under a health aspect: the cooler climate creates reveratrol in the berry skins, a miracle compound which has been shown to proctect against cancer and may prolong life - mice fed with resveratrol can triple their lifespan under laboratory conditions. The cooler the climate, the more resveratrol a plant creates as a natural fungicide. |
