Temperatures around 0°C brought the first snow.

Toes, fingers, ears and noses are growing cold, but the grapes are becoming increasingly sweet and full of flavour.

The 2006 harvest goes on at a steady pace. We are harvesting without significant interruptions.

Most of the wines have been harvested. Only some exceptional vineyards like Lamm and Käferberg have not been harvested yet.

Across the board, the grapes show a sugar content of around 20° KMW, which is equivalent to an alcohol content of about 13% vol.

Experience tells us that the ripening process is now complete. Sometimes, vines even reabsorb sugar from to build up reserves for winter. Even higher must weights can now be only achieved with the aid of botrytis, which causes the water to evaporate from the berries.
