Because of the wet weather, we could harvest for only a few hours during the last week. We made good use of them to finish St Laurent, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir.

This week we will begin with the vineyards of the Great Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. During the night from Sunday to Monday we had ideal, frosty, nighttime temperatures of 0°C. They day was very sunny, which is perfect for the last aromatic ripeness. On 13 October we will beginn with the main harvest of our best Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, and Riesling.

The Chardonnay will be harvested Monday, on Tuesday and Wednesday the Grüner Veltliner on the Loiser Berg, and on Thursday and Friday we will begin with the Riesling for our “Kamptaler Terrassen” and the Steinmassel vineyard.

The grapes are still healthy and have reached a wonderfully full taste while losing the somewhat simple aromas they showed until early September.
