During the past week, there were only two days during which we could harvest the sparkling base wine (Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris) and the light Grüner Veltliner.
Then the long-awaited rain came, 15mm of it, enough to refresh the vines and give us hope for what is to come. Now we hope that the next few days will be clear. The first cool nights have begun, which is a great boon.
During the past week, the grapes were harvested with 17° KMW sugar content (that's how we measure sugar here, according to the Klosterneuburger Mostwaage - anyway, this will give some 11% natural alcohol in the wine). |
