USA: "Great Performances"
In its jubilee edition, the respected „Wine & Spirits Magazin USA“ published a selection of what is best in the world of wine, “the result of a quarter century of great drinking pleasure”, as publisher Joshua Greene remarks.

Headlined “Great Performances by Countries”, the tasting notes of the last 25 years were revaluated and the nine international wineries with the highest overall scores were distinguished as the best of their respective countries.

"Willi Bründlmayer´s wines from his estate in Kamptal have dominated our Austrian tastings since the late ´90s,” the editorial team commented their choice of “Best Austrian Producer”, mentioning in particular the “Heiligenstein Riesling, with its striking mineral essence."

“Awards such as this one, taking into account achievement over a long period of time, are particularly hard to achieve and require a great deal of patient work,” commented a happy Willi Bründlmayer. “They are given to an entire family, to all team members and business partners.”

The fact that Austria is among the countries so distinguished is in itself remarkable and testifies to the great changes the country had undergone during the last decades: other new and “old” wine-growing countries were not (yet) included in the editorial awards.
