| When the Vines Are Crying |
The pruning of the vines is now finished.
Before the first shoots are sent out, the plant activates its “transport highways”.
We can observe this process in the vineyards at the moment. The fresh cuts, which have not yet scarred over, begin to bleed: having already drawn nutrients from the wet soil into the very tips of its branches to further the development of the buds formed in the autumn, they produce tears, and in the most active moments, great drops can be seen to fall to the ground.
In case of the beautiful sunny weather, we can already see the first shoots. |
